Yes, there is a fully operational scooter in my living room. It just needs its brakes fixed.

So excited about the prospect of new Fiona Apple music in the next 12 months (so the rumors go) that I don’t think I can handle it.

Things I Learned Today While Visiting My Doctor

  1. Everything I was doing to make myself feel better was in fact, making myself worse.
  2. He has a new kitten named Eve.
  3. The kitten was an unwanted Christmas gift.
  4. Kittens do not care if you are discussing antibiotics and will interrupt said visit by jumping on your lap, jumping on the garbage can, and jumping inside the sink.

The Book Club That Barely Was

Remember when I used to review every book I read? No? Probably because no one reads my blog! That’s ok! Mне всё равно! So now I decided I’m going to write something for Julie Parade again because only posting pictures of myself is boring and weird.

Let’s talk about the last three books I read.

1. The Curfew by Jesse Ball: Does anyone know who Jesse Ball is? I never read anything about him in magazines. I don’t even remember how I found out about him, but I’ve read everything he’s ever written, including a book of demented children’s stories that I literally threw across the room is disgust. Literally! Jesse Ball teaches a bunch of obscure classes at the Art Institute about things like lying and dreams. I know this because it’s on the About the Author page.

2. My Life in a Column by Tracey Emin: Remember when I wrote a blog post about how I wanted to read this book? No? Probably because no one reads my blog! That’s ok! The point is is I got this book and it was exactly what I needed when I needed it. There was this weird time in my life (like, last month) when I got sick and couldn’t work and my bf was out of town and I also couldn’t talk and I was feeling really fat and I couldn’t do anything but feel sick and fat and read this book alone in my sad apartment. Tracey Emin was my best friend for a week and it was awesome! We went to Namibia together!

3. Strangeland by Tracey Emin: After I read her other book, I felt very strongly like I needed to know about the life of Tracey Emin, as told by Tracey Emin. I was really hoping she would talk more about all the sexycool Brits she banged during the 90s but she had to be all “professional” and “adult” about it and left all the salacious details to the imagination. Which I totally imagined and it was awesome!

The book I am currently reading is call Speak, Memory by Vladimir Nabokov and it was suggested to me by Kate Lamy. So far I like it.
